French Louis XV Period European Varnish Secretary with Chines Decoration Circa 1740
Exceptional straight secretary in European varnish with polychrome decoration of scenes of pagodas on black background, opening with a drawer in doucine, the flap revealing a walnut theatre of compartments and six drawers. The lower part with two leaves resting on four small scrolled feet. Gilt bronze ornamentation.
