French Louis XVI period Rose des Vents marquetry inlaid small chest of drawers circa 1790

A small “chiffonnier” or “meuble d'entre deux” in veneered wood such as Rosewood, Boxwood Rosewood, ebony, and tinted sycamore, showing on the fronts of the four drawers and the top a superb and rich marquetry decoration representing checkered fillets and false fluting. The top features a Rose des Vents in boxwood and ebony marquetry.

Beautiful work, certainly from Eastern France, partly from the late French Louis XVI period circa 1790-1800.

Sizes: H 29.92 Inches. - W 19.68 Inches. - D 14.96 Inches.

In good condition and use, beautifully varnished in our workshops. An old restoration of the piece of furniture is to be reported with a change of wood in the bottoms.
