Pair of large walnut armchairs, molded and carved, French Regence period circa 1720

A large pair of flat-backed armchairs with large seats in walnut, molded and carved with foliage on the front crosspieces and the heads of the armrests, the legs ending in animal hooves. The quality of our armchairs, the general movement suggest a work from Lyon of the Régence period.

Very nice French work probably Lyonnais Regence period circa 1720.

Our armchairs are in good general condition, they have been completely dismantled, glued, and pegged to new, two restorations are to report in the feet, and reinforcements inside the belt have been positioned. The upholstery of old-style straps and horsehair stuffing has just been done. This pair of armchairs is covered with a beautiful Jacquard woven with floral motifs in red, pink, and gold.
