Pair of Louis XVI style sconces Aux Termes de Femmes in chiseled and gilt bronze circa 1850-1870

Rare pair of sconces in mat and shiny gilt bronze called "Aux Termes de Femmes". The shafts in the shape of women's terms ended by scrolls of acanthus interlaced. The two arms of lights simulating the upper limbs of women, in a plant decoration of foliage and clusters of grapes. 

Magnificent French work of Louis XVI style to be brought closer to the work of the famous goldsmith Robert-Joseph Auguste (1757-1801) and of Napoleon III period circa 1850-1870. 

A similar model of the 18th century is kept at the Metropolitan Museum in New-York (Former Wrightsman collection).
