Maison Gagneau Pair of chiseled and gilt bronze candlesticks mounted in lamps of Louis XVI style

The Maison Gagneau is one of the most famous light manufacturers in Paris in the 19th century, established in 1800 at 25 rue d'Enghien in Paris and later at 115 rue de Lafayette. It participated in a large number of exhibitions. It began in 1819 with the Exhibition of Industrial Products, participated in the World Fairs where it was part of the jury in the category of art bronzes (class 25) at the World Fair in Paris in 1889.

An interesting and decorative pair of chiseled bronze candlesticks in beautiful gilding. They have an elegant work of chiseling decorated with Lion heads and garlands of flowers.

In a fine original condition of conservation, our candlesticks have been converted as table lamps and receive lovely new shades in ivory colored silk with gold interior.

The candlesticks are professionally wired for electricity for Europe and USA.
