18th century French ormolu cage chandelier with cut crystal decoration circa 1760-1770
A rare Louis XV-period cage-shaped chandelier, in bronze formerly gilded with mercury (still partly in its original gilding), featuring superb white and smoky cut-crystal decoration, formed of large plates, numerous stars and rosettes and a central shaft. Our chandelier ends with a large ball in blown and cut crystal.
Our chandelier is illuminated by eight arms of light with removable keys.

In very good condition. The chandelier has been cleaned and electrified to European standards, and can be upgraded to American standards on request.
