Biography:

George Clarkson Stanfield (1828 - 1878).

English landscape painter.

Son of painter Clarkson Stanfield (1793-1867); grandson of actor and author James Field Stanfield (1749/50-1824).

Studied at the Royal Academy Schools (though not enrolled); based in Britain, he painted views of Britain, France, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. 

Exhibited at the British Institution (1844-1867) and the Royal Academy (1844-1876).
