A call to travel or nostalgia for a beautiful trip to Venice, that's certainly the feeling inspired by this beautiful painting signed lower right by Alphonse LECOZ circa 1890-1900. 

 

As usual, Alphonse Lecoz has skilfully captured the light and atmosphere created by the colors typical of the lagoon city, and here offers us a lovely view of a Venetian canal animated by a Gondolier.

The theme of the canals of Venice, a destination for many painters and an absolute source of inspiration.

We know little about the life of Alphonse Lecoz who is obviously a pseudonym used by a Grand Master Painter, who knew how to keep his secret.
