Jacques-Antoine Leclerc or Leclère Master in 1772 Mahogany console with white marble top Louis XVI period
An unusual and decorative mahogany and mahogany veneer console table, the sides moved, opening with two drawers with mahogany curtains decorated with flutes and slats, the top of Carrara White marble set in an openwork bronze gallery. The console resting on baluster amounts joined by a shelf spacer. Ornamentation in gilded bronze.
Elegant meuble parisien d’époque Louis XVI porte l’estampille de Jacques-Antoine Leclère vers 1780.

In fine condition and use, satin varnish, bronze with an old patina.
Biography:
Jacques-Antoine Leclerc or Leclère 1744-1792:
Master cabinetmaker since September 29, 1779, he worked on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine opposite rue des Barres, then in the courtyard of the Juiverie, near the moat of the Bastille.
His productions are stamped J. A. LECLERC or J. A. LECLERE.
The old Casimir-Périer collection included a pair of precious commodes, in Coromandel lacquer, stamped with this imprint.
