Marcel Cosson, avec beaucoup de talent nous plonge dans l’ambiance du Carnaval de Venise avec cette charmante scène de bal entre Arlequin et Combine et des couples qui dansent autour d’eux.

Dimensions avec cadre : Hauteur 80 cm – Longueur 68 cm.
En très bon état de conservation sur sa toile d’origine, présenté dans un beau cadre en bois sculpté laqué et doré.

Marcel Cosson (1878-1956).
His pictorial influences from Impressionism and Fauvism allow him to create his own style, as evidenced by his very vivid and colorful palette.
The works of this painter of genre scenes, concentrate essentially on the scenes of spectacle: theater, circus, opera dancers in the pure tradition of DEGAS.
He paints enormously the woman whose grace he knew how to underline and evokes on his canvases the Parisian life of his time, the society which surrounds him, the characters which he frequents in the Parisian living rooms.
This artist exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris where he became a member, with an honorable mention in 1901. Then, after 1911, he exhibited at the National Gallery, the Salon des Tuileries and the Aubry, Bareiro and Jean de Ruaz Galleries.
The Documentation Center of the Musée National d'Art Moderne (Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris) has works on Marcel Cosson and thus representations of some of his paintings.
