Revolutionary-style chandelier in chiseled and gilded bronze, 19th century
Collection MLD Antiquités: This very rare, if not unique, chandelier with Revolutionary attributes is not on display in our Gallery, but is kept in our private collection.
Very rare! Unique!
A sumptuous small chandelier in finely chiseled and gilded bronze, decorated with Revolutionary attributes such as picks, axes, bunches of Lictors, laurel wreaths, stars, ribbons, etc. It is illuminated by six arms of light.
This chandelier was undoubtedly designed and intended for a very particular decoration and to be hung in a small room, or a Cabinet, just above the head, otherwise the various finely chiseled decorative elements and scenes would have been indistinguishable and therefore useless.
The elements of our chandelier are inspired by the symbols, allegories, and attributes of the French Revolution of 1789.
Sizes: H 23.62 In – Diameter 18.89 In.
Our chandelier is in excellent condition, in a beautiful matte and burnished gilding. It has been restored and professionally rewired to European standards in our workshop. Possibility of upgrading to American standards upon request.
