Mahogany console chest of drawers with white Carrara marble top, Louis XVI period, circa 1780

An elegant and decorative mahogany and mahogany veneer half-moon commode. 

It opens with three drawers in front, the sides with mahogany shelves encircled with gilded brass openwork galleries. Carrara white marble top mounted in a gilded bronze gallery.

The chest of drawers rests on fluted uprights decorated with ormolu rings, ending in small tapered legs with ormolu flutes and sabots. 

Beautiful Parisian work of the Louis XVI period, circa 1780.
